47% of Americans don’t have $400 to spend in case of an emergency.

A study from the Federal Reserve found that 47% of Americans say they “could not cover an emergency expense costing $400, or would cover it by selling something or borrowing money.” The amount most Americans said they could afford in an emergency is even more depressing.
